Things coaches have figured out that aren't obvious from the screen.
Team and branding
- Put your ranking in your team name during the season, for example "Central High School (#4 AAA)". It shows on reports, the scoreboard and Takedown LIVE, and you can change it any time.
- Any photo can be your logo: a fan favorite, a senior night shot. Change it as often as you like, on reports and separately on Takedown LIVE.
- Emoji work in your Takedown LIVE broadcast name.
Roster
- A wrestler listed twice, on your roster or an opponent's, is fixed by merging: open the duplicate, tap Edit, change the name to match the other entry exactly, and tap Done. Takedown asks whether to merge the two; tap Merge and every match, pairing, weigh-in and Season from the duplicate moves to the one that's left.
- Adding a wrestler whose name already exists on the team but not on this Season's roster doesn't create a duplicate; Takedown offers to add the existing wrestler, records intact.
Scheduling and scoring
- Use a Dual Meet Tournament for a tri, quad or duals tournament. You set the Event roster and weigh-ins once and score each dual inside it.
- Copy last year's schedule, then fix dates. Copy a lineup from the last dual, then adjust it.
- To clear every pairing in a dual meet at once, change the Event's weight class set and change it back.
- Entering matches from a paper scorebook? Start the match clock in every period so the scoring buttons work as they do live; don't score with the clock stopped and Override. See Scoring a Match from First Whistle to Move On.
- Keep wrestle-offs and scrimmages in their own Season so they stay out of your records.
Reports and sharing
- Text a report: share it as an Image and pick Messages.
- Share the Season calendar once instead of sending a schedule every week; it updates itself on everyone's phone.
- Give media contacts the Media role and the box score is one tap from the Event.
- Filter the Equipment Tracking report to one wrestler, share as PDF, and have them sign it with Markup.
Scoreboard and Takedown LIVE
- A second scoreboard in the coaches' room or lobby: open Takedown LIVE in a browser on any iPad or laptop and connect it to a TV.
- To make a wrestler's record on the scoreboard match their real record after a late start, create a dummy Event and score the missing matches as exhibitions, then leave Exhibitions out of your report filters.
