Takedown 4.0 scores freestyle with the full set of freestyle notations, for USA Wrestling and college freestyle, and every report that works for folkstyle works for freestyle.
Turn it on
Style is set per Season and per Event. Choose Freestyle as the Style when you create the Event (or the Season, for a freestyle Season) and Scoring switches to the freestyle buttons and clock.
The match
- Two periods of three minutes by default (set in Settings > Periods). Both start neutral; there's no position choice.
- Technical superiority ends the match at a 10-point lead.
- A tied match is decided by criteria, in order: most 5-point actions, most 4-point actions, most 2-point actions, fewest cautions, last points scored. Takedown applies them and records the criterion that decided it.
