Every scorer makes mistakes. Here's how to fix them, during the match and after it's saved.
During the match
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Wrong button, just now | Tap Undo. Each tap removes one more action, back to the start of the current period. |
| Missed something in the previous period | If you haven't started the clock in the current period, keep tapping Undo back into the previous period, then re-enter the scoring. Once the clock has run in the current period, Undo stops at the start of that period; use Override instead (below). |
| Wrong wrestler | Tap the wrestler's name and pick the right one. You can do this at any point in the match. |
| Wrong weight class or pairing | Tap Weight Class or Pairing in the header and pick the right one before scoring; after scoring, edit the saved match. |
| The whole match is a mess | Tap Start Over. Scoring and video for the match are erased and you start at period 1. |
| The referee awarded something the buttons won't allow | Tap Override, then the button. See below. |
Override
Override turns on every scoring button for one tap, then the buttons go back to normal. Tap it again for a second action. Use it for:
- Points awarded while the clock is stopped, such as near fall points at the end of a period, or an escape or takedown at the edge of the mat.
- Legal but rare sequences, such as a defensive pin: tap Override, then Pin for the bottom wrestler.
- An intentional release: the top wrestler lets the bottom wrestler go. Tap Escape for the bottom wrestler; if it's greyed out, tap Override first.
- Adding a missed action from an earlier period after the clock has run in the current one. The action is recorded in the current period, so the score is right but the period isn't; fix the period later by editing the match if it matters for your stats.
Use Override only when the referee's call requires it. Scoring a sequence that isn't rules-compliant throws off the match statistics in your reports.
After the match is saved
- Tap My Team > Schedule, the Event, then Matches.
- Tap the match, then Edit.
- Change what's wrong: Wrestler, Opponent, Weight Class, Match Type (Regulation or Exhibition), Bracket, Round, or Event (to move the match). Swap Wrestler Scoring flips the two wrestlers' scoring when you scored the whole match on the wrong sides.
- Tap Done. The change syncs to every iPad, your reports and Takedown LIVE.
If you changed the weight class, Takedown asks whether to change this match only or all matches for that wrestler in the Event.
Re-score a match
The scoring actions in a saved match can't be edited one by one. To re-score, delete the match (Edit, then Delete Match) and score it again from Scoring. Deleting removes the match from every iPad; the video stays in the iPad's Photos app and can be re-attached. See Uploading Video to YouTube.
Move a match to another Event
Edit the match and change Event. The two Events must be in the same Season with the same weight classes and competition levels. Matches move freely from a tournament to a tournament or dual meet, and from a dual meet to a tournament; to move between two dual meets, go through a tournament. Moving into a dual meet requires that dual meet to be fully set up (nothing marked Required for Scoring) and the match's opponent to be that dual meet's opponent.
