Takedown Scoring and Stats is free to download and free to use for managing your team. A subscription adds two things: scoring matches and recording video. Every new subscription starts with a 7-day free trial.
What's free and what needs a subscription
Free, with or without a subscription:
- Rosters, seasons, schedules and contacts
- Practices, attendance and the Practice Planner
- Weigh-ins and weight management
- Equipment tracking
- All reports
- Reviewing video and uploading it to YouTube
- Takedown LIVE and the scoreboard
- Everything else in Takedown
Needs a subscription:
- Scoring: scoring matches in the Scoring tab
- Video recording: recording match video while you score
To record video without scoring, use the iPad's Camera app.

How subscriptions work
- Annual and auto-renewing. A subscription lasts 365 days from purchase and renews automatically until you cancel.
- Price lock. Subscriptions in good standing renew at your original purchase price, even if prices go up. A subscription stays in good standing as long as you don't cancel it and its payment method stays current.
- Cancel anytime. If you cancel, scoring and video recording keep working until the end of the period you've paid for, then turn off. Everything else in Takedown keeps working, and your data stays.
- Where it's managed. A direct subscription is managed at subscribe.levelchanger.com. An App Store subscription is managed by Apple and stays with the Apple Account that bought it. It can't be moved to a different Apple Account.
One subscription covers your whole program
A subscription belongs to your Takedown account, not to an iPad. It works on every iPad signed in to that account and covers every affiliated team you run in it, such as boys, girls, middle school and club, at no extra cost.
If you run several teams in one account:
- Create a separate season for each team, and name each season so it's clear which team it belongs to.
- Choose a My Team name that works for all of them, such as your school or district name. It appears on reports, the scoreboard and Takedown LIVE.
- Score each event in the right team's season. Matches can't be moved between seasons.
- If your teams post video to different YouTube channels, sign in to the correct channel before uploading.
Teams that would rather keep everything separate can use separate Takedown accounts, each with its own subscription.
Good to know
- Family Sharing: Takedown subscriptions can't be shared through Apple Family Sharing.
- Mac: Takedown runs on Apple silicon Macs, but video recording isn't available on a Mac.
- Apple Account vs. Takedown account: the email for your Apple Account doesn't have to match the email you use to sign in to Takedown.
