Takedown drives a full scoreboard on any TV or monitor: match clock, score, period, wrestler names and photos, team scores, the next matchup and the last result. One iPad scores the match and runs the board.
Turn it on
Tap Settings > Scoreboard and turn on Use Scoreboard. Choose what the board shows:
- Show Wrestler Photos
- Show Dual Meet Team Scores
- Show Next Match Contestants
- Show Last Match Result
- Show Advertisements (see Scoreboard Advertisements)
- Play Buzzer at End of Period, with Test Buzzer
Connect a display
Either connection works; the board appears on the display as soon as it's connected, and the iPad keeps showing Scoring.
- HDMI cable. Plug an Apple USB-C or Lightning Digital AV Adapter into the iPad, an HDMI cable from the adapter to the display, and select that HDMI input on the display.
- Apple TV with AirPlay. On the same Wi-Fi as the Apple TV, open Control Center on the iPad, tap Screen Mirroring and pick the Apple TV. Takedown puts the scoreboard on the TV.
With no Event loaded in Scoring, the display shows your team logo and name.
The buzzer
The buzzer sounds through the iPad speaker, or through the display or a speaker connected by HDMI, Bluetooth or the headphone jack. If you can't hear it, check that Play Buzzer at End of Period is on, and turn up the volume on the display or speaker.
A dual-sided scoreboard
Takedown Advantage is our mounting system for a two-sided board on a tripod, using two monitors and off-the-shelf HDMI parts, for the tournament table or the center of the gym. See Takedown Advantage and the assembly instructions.
