Contacts are the people around your program: coaches, parents, the athletic director, media. Give each a role and Takedown knows who should get what.
Adding a contact
- Tap My Team > Contacts, then +.
- Enter first name, last name, email and phone.
- Tap Team Roles and check the roles that apply: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, Subscription Purchaser, Parent/Guardian, Scorer, Videographer, Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, SID, Trainer, Strength/Conditioning, Nutritionist, Media, Wrestler, Other.
- Tap Done.
Parents and guardians
Add a wrestler's parents on the wrestler, not in the Contacts list: tap My Team > Roster, the wrestler, then Parents/Guardians and +. They're then included whenever you email the Parent/Guardian group. To add many at once from a spreadsheet, see Importing Parent and Guardian Contacts from a File.
Sending email to groups
Wherever you see the Email (envelope) button, in Reports, the practice plan, the pairings handout and the Season calendar, tap it and the Send To screen lets you pick whole groups by role or individual people. Tap Done and the email opens with the recipients filled in. Takedown uses the iPad's Mail app, so an email account must be set up on the iPad.
Takedown Primary Contact
A contact marked Takedown Primary Contact receives our emails about releases, new features and known problems. New contacts are primary by default, and your Takedown login email is always one. Keep at least one address someone reads marked as primary, and turn it off for anyone who shouldn't hear from us; the change takes effect when the iPad is online.
Media contacts
Give newspapers and websites the Media role, and Share Box Score with Media on an Event addresses the email for you. See After the Event.
