Weight classes are set per Season and can be changed per Event. Takedown includes the NFHS and college sets, state-specific sets, and lets you build your own.
Choosing a set
Set the Season default in My Team > Seasons, the Season, Edit > Weight Classes. Every new Event uses it; change an individual Event's Weight Classes for a tournament that uses different weights.
State-specific sets
Settings > Weight Classes lists the sets Takedown knows, including states whose weight classes differ from NFHS. These change from season to season; to be sure you have the latest, quit Takedown fully and reopen it. If a state's set is wrong, email support@levelchanger.com with a link to the chartering organization's page and we'll fix it.
Custom sets
- Tap Settings > Weight Classes, then Add Custom Weight Classes.
- Enter a Weight Classes Title, then tap Add a Weight Class for each weight.
- Tap Done. The set is available to every Season and Event.
Weight allowances
Many states add a growth allowance to the scratch weights at some point in the season. You could build a custom set with the allowances, but it doesn't help and it splits your statistics across twice as many weight classes. Keep scoring at scratch weights and note the allowance in the Event's Notes.
Eligibility
At weigh-in and in Scoring, Takedown shows which weight classes a wrestler is eligible for based on their certification. It's advisory only; you can enter any wrestler at any weight.
